I think its stupid how the people who bitch about women getting jobs while pregnant are the same people who would bitch about a woman with kids relying on their tax dollars to support her family. You can't have it both ways |

I second the being super scared about attending college or getting a degree, all this talk about how it does thing for you sure does make me question things.. I wish I could decide what would be a good major, any ideas? of course I know it depends on what you like or what you want, but to be honest I want to survive in todays world, so budget is the top concern. |

To the college grads with a bachelors or masters who can't find a job, you need to watch Wall Street. The scene where Michael Douglas tells Charlie Sheen about the type of guy he wants to do business with and hire. "Most of these Harvard MBA types - they don't add up to dogshit. Give me guys that are poor, smart, hungry - and no feelings. You win a few, you lose a few, but you keep on fighting." - Gordon Gekko A degree does not mean squat if you don't know how to either save time in business, or make money and move product. It's really that simple. |

The debate between degrees vs. experience is getting really old. Degrees give you a background of knowledge and a mindset for learning that allow you to start working and move up eventually. Experience gives you more specific knowlegde and lets you do your job better. If you didn't get a job because you lack a degree or because you lack experience, it just means that there is someone who can do it better, period. |
